How To Make Paper Marigolds

Updated: Sep 14, 2019

We are back for another fun tutorial! I have been working super hard to make this tutorial for you guys!

So, let's get started! Who is familiar with the importance of the Marigolds at Day of the Dead celebrations? If not, don't worry, I want to share a couple of facts of the Marigolds. Marigolds are the flower of the dead. Why? According to my best friend, Google, Marigolds help our family spirits guide their journey to the altars that have been made for them. The vibrancy and strong scent of the Marigold help them out so much! Now you know a little history of the Marigolds!

This is the perfect craft opportunity to do with your kids and family. A fun way to get them involved with the creation of the altar.

You will find the free SVG file here and the PDF file here. For those that are Cricut users, you can utilize the SVG file by uploading it to Cricut Design Space. For those that do not have an electronic cutting machine, you can print the PDF file and cut out the design. Woohoo!!

To learn step by step please see below or check out the video tutorial here.

Materials Needed:

1. Marigold Template (10 copies)

2. 65lb Cardstock Paper

3. Hot Glue Gun & Hot Glue Sticks

4. Electronic Cutting Machine or Scissors

5. Wood Dowel (to help with curling the petals)

Super easy step by step Marigold tutorial! I want to see your beautiful Marigolds! Don't forget to tag me @modernflowercreation on social media. I cannot wait to see your beautiful creations!

Stay Crafty,

Cristina
